HEALTH & FITNESS DISCLAIMER
Last updated: November 4, 2026
Kickass Transformations provides personal training, nutrition and lifestyle coaching, educational resources and community support to help people improve their health and happiness through awareness, accountability and action.
Kickass Transformations services are available to participants aged 16 and older. Participants aged 16–17 require parent or legal guardian consent and must complete the applicable registration, screening and participation requirements before services begin.
This disclaimer explains the scope and limitations of that support and the risks involved in participating. It applies to our website content, Coaching Packages, in-person and virtual sessions, the Self-Guided App & Community membership delivered through HubFit, workouts, programs, recipes, tracking tools, community discussions and related communications from Tanya Masse or authorized team members.
Classes offered through Kickass Classes may also have participation requirements and policies provided through the class website, registration and booking process.
Please read this disclaimer alongside our Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy and any applicable client agreements or participation forms.
1. Scope of Coaching and Education
Tanya Masse is a Functional Health & Fitness Coach, certified personal trainer and certified nutrition coach.
Kickass Transformations provides exercise instruction, fitness programming, nutrition and lifestyle coaching, education and support within the scope of Tanya’s training and qualifications.
We do not provide medical diagnosis, medical treatment, medical nutrition therapy, physiotherapy, psychotherapy or medical clearance to exercise.
Our content and communications do not replace care from a physician, registered dietitian, physiotherapist, mental-health professional or another appropriately qualified healthcare provider.
Do not disregard professional advice, delay seeking care or change prescribed medication or treatment because of something you read, watch or discuss through Kickass Transformations.
2. Different Services Provide Different Support
Coaching Packages
Coaching Packages combine scheduled one-hour personal training and coaching sessions with personalized in-app training programming and support.
Sessions may focus on personal training, movement assessments, nutrition or lifestyle coaching, or progress check-ins with recommendations. They may take place in person, virtually or through a combination of both.
Programming and recommendations are informed by the information you provide, relevant observations and our work together. Please provide accurate information and tell Tanya about changes that may affect your participation.
Movement and fitness assessments help inform exercise selection and coaching. They are not medical examinations, diagnoses or medical clearance.
Personalized nutrition and lifestyle coaching supports everyday practices and behaviour change. It does not include medical dietary treatment or psychotherapy.
Self-Guided App & Community Membership
The self-guided membership includes pre-built programs, app resources, optional tracking tools and general coaching, guidance and encouragement through the community.
Community participation, a reply to a question or access to a program does not by itself establish a comprehensive personal assessment or ongoing private coaching relationship.
This membership does not include individualized programming, personal assessments, continuous supervision or routine review of everything you track. Those services are provided only where included in a separately purchased coaching service.
Group Classes
Group classes provide coach-led exercise instruction in a shared setting. Modifications may be offered, but a group class does not provide the same individual attention as a private session.
For every service, an exercise, program, recipe or target being available does not automatically mean it is suitable for your circumstances.
3. Deciding What Is Appropriate for You
Consider your current health, experience, abilities and relevant professional advice before choosing an activity or changing your nutrition or lifestyle practices.
Seek advice from an appropriate healthcare provider or qualified exercise professional if you have concerns about safe participation. This is particularly relevant if you:
- Have an injury, persistent pain or a health condition that may affect participation.
- Experience dizziness, fainting, balance difficulties or unexplained symptoms.
- Are recovering from surgery, illness or injury.
- Are pregnant, postpartum or breastfeeding and need guidance relevant to your circumstances.
- Take medication that may affect exercise, appetite, blood sugar, blood pressure or nutritional needs.
- Have a history of an eating disorder or find food, weight or body tracking distressing.
- Have been advised to limit activity or follow a medically supervised nutrition plan.
The Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology’s Get Active Questionnaire and its accompanying guidance can help you consider whether further advice is appropriate before becoming more active. It does not replace an assessment when one is needed.
Complete any screening or participation forms required for your service. Tell Tanya about relevant changes in your health, symptoms, restrictions or circumstances so your participation can be reconsidered when appropriate.
4. Exercise Risks and Participation
Physical activity involves risks, including soreness, strains, sprains, falls, equipment-related injuries and, in some circumstances, serious medical complications.
Coaching, screening and exercise modifications can help manage risk but cannot eliminate it.
In-person sessions: Tell Tanya promptly if a movement causes pain, you feel unwell or you need a modification or break.
Virtual sessions: The coach’s ability to observe you depends on your camera position, lighting, connection and what is visible on screen. Some movements, symptoms or hazards may not be apparent. Physical assistance and hands-on spotting are not available remotely.
On-demand workouts and independent training: We cannot observe your technique or respond to your condition in real time.
When participating:
- Review instructions and equipment requirements before starting.
- Choose exercises, loads, ranges of motion and intensity appropriate to your abilities.
- Start at a manageable level and progress gradually.
- Use stable equipment in good condition and a clear, suitable space.
- Use support when needed for balance or transitions.
- Take breaks and modify or skip movements when appropriate.
- Ask for individual guidance if you are unsure how to perform a movement safely.
Stop exercising if you experience pain, dizziness, faintness, chest discomfort, unusual shortness of breath or other concerning symptoms. Seek appropriate medical help. For symptoms suggesting a medical emergency, contact emergency services immediately.
5. Nutrition Information, Recipes and Food Tracking
Nutrition education, coaching, recipes, food logs and suggested calorie or macronutrient targets support nutrition awareness and everyday eating practices. They are not medical dietary prescriptions or treatment plans.
Nutritional needs vary. General resources and app calculations may not account for medical conditions, medications, pregnancy, breastfeeding, allergies, intolerances or other individual needs.
Recipe nutrition information, portion estimates and food-database entries may be incomplete or inaccurate. Check ingredients, quantities, serving sizes and product labels rather than assuming every entry has been verified for your needs.
You are responsible for checking food suitability, allergens and preparation requirements. A recipe or meal idea is not a guarantee that a food is free from an allergen or safe for a particular medical condition.
If you need individualized dietary treatment or have concerns about food intake, consult an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.
Calorie, weight and food tracking are optional. Tell Tanya if tracking causes distress or does not support your wellbeing.
6. Check-Ins, Measurements and App Estimates
Journals, habit tracking, menstrual health entries, Functional Health and Health & Happiness Check-Ins, photos and body-composition records are tools for awareness and observing patterns.
They do not diagnose conditions, establish medical fitness to exercise or replace clinical testing. A check-in score or change in a measurement does not by itself establish the cause or significance of a symptom.
Calorie estimates, macronutrient targets, activity readings, wearable data and smart-scale or bioelectrical impedance analysis readings have limitations. Results can vary with the device, inputs, measurement conditions and calculation method.
Most tracking tools are optional. You do not need to complete every check-in or record every metric to participate.
Seek professional advice about symptoms or concerns rather than relying on app entries or estimates alone.
7. Community Discussions and Third-Party Information
Members may share experiences, opinions, suggestions and links. Another member’s experience does not establish that an approach is safe, appropriate or effective for you.
Member posts are not medical advice or individualized recommendations from Kickass Transformations. We may moderate content but cannot review every post immediately or verify every statement, external link or third-party resource.
HubFit and other third-party services provide their own technical features and information. Contact us if you notice a potential error or have questions about using a resource.
8. Monitoring and Urgent Concerns
Tanya and authorized team members may access information you submit through the app as described in our Privacy Policy.
For Coaching Package clients, reviews, feedback and check-ins follow the support included in your package and the arrangements agreed with you.
For self-guided members, entries are primarily tools for personal awareness and accountability. Access to your information does not mean every entry is reviewed or that a health concern will be identified.
Messages, check-ins, food logs, workout records and community posts are not continuously monitored. Replies may be delayed.
Do not use these channels to seek urgent medical or mental-health assistance. Contact emergency services or an appropriate urgent-care provider when immediate help is needed.
9. Results and Personal Participation
Results vary with health, circumstances, participation and many other factors. We do not guarantee a particular change in weight, body composition, strength, mobility, symptoms, health or wellbeing.
Testimonials and transformation stories describe individual experiences. They do not promise that another person will achieve the same outcome or establish that the service caused every reported change.
By choosing to participate, you acknowledge the risks described here and your responsibility to work within your abilities, communicate relevant information, follow appropriate instructions and seek individual advice when needed.
Nothing in this disclaimer excludes a responsibility, consumer protection or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded. It does not remove obligations we have under applicable law or replace any service-specific agreement or participation form.
